Stop Gate at Mile 110

Mile 110.29 - From Four Locks to this point and beyond, the canal has a stone wall.  This structure leads to a long creek and then the river.  It may have been used to control the water level.

The view from underneath shows the butterfly gates still intact. 

This is a look from down the creek that leads to the Potomac.
