Dam 6 and Lock 55

Mile 134 - You can tell this is the inlet lock by the distinctive staircase design in the walls of the lock.  The inlet lock, lock 55 and the dam are all in the same area.

Dam 6 is a dam is disrepair.  It's an earthen dam that has since sprouted trees and shrubs.

Lock 55 is one of those joining points between the canal and the Western Maryland Trail that starts near Fort Frederick.  The stairway that leads up there is temporarily roped off though.
