Lock 34

Mile 61.57 - More flood damage as you can see.  The lock house also has washed away.  This lock is located just where Harpers Ferry Road changes direction and all the buses from the outfitters in Harpers Ferry drop their passengers carrying inner tubes or rafts or kayaks.  So it's busy here on hot summer afternoons.

Lock 34 has a little bench and some flowers that look inviting.  This lock is also known as Goodheart's lock, perhaps it was the home of a romantic lock tender.
