Lock 44 - Williamsport

Mile 99.3 - Don't be fooled by it's shiny good looks, this lock has been restored big time. Do you see the green fire retardant on the lock gates? That's not usual for 19th century construction. The lock house is a big one.
News story on the Lock 44 restoration from the Hagerstown Herald-Mail.

Pepco's
R. Paul Smith Generating Plant looms in the background. This building is
so large and tall, it's almost kind of scary. Judging by the nearby coal
piles, it's coal powered, just like the Dickerson generating station.
