McCoy's Ferry

Mile 110.42 - This is a large picnic, camping and boating park.  There's a plaque here that reads:

On May 23, 1861, Confederates attempting to capture the ferry boat at McCoy's Landing were driven off by the Clear Spring Guard.  Here, on October 10th, 1862, J.E.B. Stuart crossed the Potomac on his second ride around McClennan's army.

Clear Spring is the name of a nearby town.  J.E.B. Stuart lead the troops that took back Harper's Ferry from John Brown and played other prominent roles in Maryland Civil War history.

Across the canal from McCoy's is a trestle for the B & O railroad that runs parallel to the canal.

There's a large culvert under the canal for cars to enter the park, just as at Four Locks.
