Duck Poop Lake did not
exist when I first moved into here. Over time, they dammed either end of
Gunner's Branch Creek. The front end (where the water enters) is pictured
here. It is also a flood plain for all the housing here although I must
admit flooding is not much of a problem where we live.
The other end of the dam contains the control gate and the creek continues into Seneca Creek State Park as a regular creek. I suppose the real name for Duck Poop Lake is Gunner's Branch Lake. There aren't any natural lakes in all of Maryland but the man made ones really aren't the same.
