Here's Brian, posing as the Strawberry hobbit. Around Memorial Day weekend, the local strawberries are ripe for the picking and most of the kids are up for a few hours of picking. Living on the edge of suburbia as we do, there's a couple of pick your own patches nearby.
The flat you see here holds about 10 pounds of berries. We can usually fill 2 or three of these within an hour. The older kids are very helpful, the younger kids are slower and I think help themselves more!
