The School Year, the Way I See it
As you know, school has its good points and its bad points. So in the next couple of paragraphs I'll tell you how I saw the school year. I'll tell you about how I have improved, what I have learned, and my opinion of middle school.
I will now tell about what I have learned this year. This year, I have learned how to write stories from my "writer's notebook", from writing a Greek myth, and from writing an African folk tale. In fact, writing stories like these has inspired me into writing books. I hope to be an author when I grow up. In world studies I have learned a lot about Greece, Rome, Africa and a couple of other places. I learned a lot, and I can tell by how hard I worked. I have learned a lot in science. I learned how to write a hypothesis, a conclusion, and observations. Another thing that I liked about science was that it was fun, and I understood it. In reading we read a couple of books which I thought were okay, but I hated to answer questions about. We also learned and read about African folk tales and Greek myths. In math I learned a lot; I noticed that mostly what we did was we reviewed math skills that we already learned and then expanded. Overall, I learned a lot.
This year I have done a lot of improving. I have learned to make my writing vivid, descriptive and clear by revising, editing and proofreading. I have learned how to follow directions efficiently from the mistakes that I made earlier in the school year. I have learned to organize myself well from communications class even though it was torture learning it. I have improved in studying, organizing myself and I learned some ways to take a test /test-taking strategies. Due to these great test-taking strategies, I think that I did well on the CRT tests.
I feel that school has taught me a lot, but I object to all of the evil, mean, badmouthed kids at middle school. I have tried to make a positive influence on these evil kids, but it doesn't seem to help. In fact, if anything, I think that their evil influence has rubbed off on me. But I also feel that some of my good influence has rubbed off on some of the semi-good kids. Mostly what I hate about the kids at school is that they break almost all of my standards such as cussing, watching evil shows like South Park, and talking about nasty things. They also break a lot of the Ten Commandments. I just don't like to be surrounded by such evil peers! That is why I think that we should add more standards to the discipline policy. I also think that we should follow the discipline policy much more strictly. I do think that the teachers are good at teaching and they are very nice, but they should make the kids follow the discipline policy much more strictly.
Now you know what I have learned this year, you have learned what I have improved in, and you have also gotten to hear my opinion of middle school. You may disagree, but that was the school year, the way I saw it.
